About Us

The Cottage Gardener is an award winning small business selling vintage style gardening gifts, tools, accessories and homewares for the country home.

Hello! I’m Suzanne - the creator and owner of The Cottage Gardener.

The Cottage Gardener was created from our family passion for rural living, everything vintage or antique, our ramshackle cottage and trying to look after our one acre garden on the Norfolk/Suffolk border! Buying good quality gardening products with a vintage country look was a challenge.

So The Cottage Gardener was born! Although originally created in 2011, it closed for a few years due to family commitments. Now retired from corporate life, I am able to spend my time sourcing beautiful new and vintage gifts, tools, accessories and homewares for the country garden and home - many of which cannot be found on the high street. The rest of the family get involved in packing and giving me moral support!

I am proud to be able to stock high quality products from companies such as the RHS, National Trust and Sophie Conran but also to be able to shine a spotlight on beautiful artisan made products made by master crafts people from around the UK. From authentic Sussex Trugs to handmade willow baskets, each piece is hand-crafted and are true heritage pieces.

The customer is at the heart of everything I do at The Cottage Gardener. I want our customers to be able to shop with confidence knowing that we have taken every care possible with their order as a small rural independent business.  I also want to ensure that the business is as environmentally responsible as possible so we use eco friendly packaging wherever possible to ensure that the business environmental impact is as minimal as possible.

The Cottage Gardener has won a number of awards including the Small Business Sunday award by Theo Paphitis, Best Garden E-tailer Southern Enterprise Awards and one of the Top 100 Small Businesses #bizbubble. We have also been featured on the Channel 4 lunchtime programme Steph's Packed Lunch!

I hope you enjoy browsing through my online shop. If you have any questions or need help sourcing a ‘perfect’ gardening product or gift, please don’t hesitate to get in contact.
